2nd Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers deployed to France with the B.E.F. in 1939. They later fought in Madagascar and in the Italian campaign from 1943.

St. Patricks Day 1944 in Anzio

On St. Patrick's Day, 17th March 1944, 2nd Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers enjoyed a- brief rest with an extra ration of meat and tot of rum in Anzio.
