Fusilier Samuel Lucas (6980484) served in 2nd Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers during the Second World War. He was the son of William John Lucas and Margaret Lucas of Drumbeg, Co. Down, and the husband of Jean Lucas of Drumbeg, Co. Down.

Fusilier Lucas died on 17th January 1944 aged 30 years old. His grave is in Section III, Row D, Grave 19 of Minturno War Cemetery, Italy. His headstone bears the inscription:

And may the brew that wears his cross hereafter share his crown.
