On 15th-16th April 1941, Luftwaffe bombs fell on Blythe Street in South Belfast. A commemorative plaque remembers those from the area who died as a result.
In 2016, Belfast City Council erected a number of commemorative plaques such as the one on St. Aidan's Parish Church in Blythe Street remembering those who died as a result of the Belfast Blitz.
The plaque commemorates 13 casualties who died on Blythe Street on 15th-16th April 1941. This includes Sarah Jane Thompson who died at No. 95 although lived nearby on Donegall Road. Robert Craig and Rebecca Craig both died at City Hospital, Belfast bringing the total casuaties for Blythe Street up to 15.
