Campbell College, Belmont Road, Belfast

During the Second World War, boarders left Campbell College grammar school in East Belfast. The site became a military hospital operating throughout the war.

On 23rd December 1942, a soldier underwent treatment for a damaged jaw at No. 24 (London) General Hospital based at Campbell College, a school in East Belfast.

The Fire Raid of the Belfast Blitz

One of the greatest single losses of life during the Belfast Blitz came on the night of 4th-5th May 1941 when Luftwaffe bombs fell in and around No. 24 (London) General Hospital.
