He lived with his wife Jeanetta Briggs, and sons Leonard Briggs Jr., James Briggs and Rowland William Briggs at 47 Veryan Gardens, Greencastle, Co. Antrim at the time of the Luftwaffe attack on the city.
Leonard Briggs Sr. died on 16th April 1941 aged 37 years old at 47 Veryan Gardens, Greencastle, Co. Antrim. Leonard Briggs Sr’s grave is with his sons Leonard Briggs Jr. and James Briggs in Glenalina Extension, Section J, Grave 419 of Belfast City Cemetery, Belfast. A funeral service took place on 22nd April 1941.
