Leonard Briggs Jr.

Leonard Briggs Jr. was one of four members of the family killed at 47 Veryan Gardens on the outskirts of Belfast during heavy Luftwaffe bombing in April 1941.

Civilian Leonard Briggs Jr. was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz during the Second World War. He lived with his parents Leonard Briggs Sr. and Jeanetta Briggs, and brothers James Briggs and Rowland William Briggs at 47 Veryan Gardens, Greencastle, Co. Antrim at the time of the Luftwaffe attack on the city.

Leonard Briggs Jr. died on 16th April 1941 aged 12 years old at 47 Veryan Gardens, Greencastle, Co. Antrim. Leonard Briggs Jr’s grave is with his father Leonard Briggs Sr. and brother James Briggs in Glenalina Extension, Section J, Grave 419 of Belfast City Cemetery, Belfast. A funeral service took place on 22nd April 1941.
