James Briggs was one of four members of the family killed at 47 Veryan Gardens on the outskirts of Belfast during heavy Luftwaffe bombing in April 1941.

Civilian James Briggs was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz during the Second World War. He lived with his parents Leonard Briggs Sr. and Jeanetta Briggs, and brothers Leonard Briggs Jr. and Rowland William Briggs at 47 Veryan Gardens, Greencastle, Co. Antrim at the time of the Luftwaffe attack on the city.
James Briggs died on 16th April 1941 aged 10 years old at 47 Veryan Gardens, Greencastle, Co. Antrim. James Briggs’ grave is with his father Leonard Briggs Sr. and brother Leonard Briggs Jr. in Glenalina Extension, Section J, Grave 419 of Belfast City Cemetery, Belfast. A funeral service took place on 22nd April 1941.
