Bridge Street, Belfast

Following the Luftwaffe air raids on Belfast in April and May 1941, Bridge Street in the city centre was almost unrecognisable due to the severity of damage.

Following the Belfast Blitz of April and May 1941, people in Belfast feared further attacks. As a measure, large static water tanks such as this at Bridge Street, Belfast were constructed on bombed out sites around the city.
