8th March is International Women's Day, a time to remember the important role played by women during the Second World War in Northern Ireland and across the UK.

S.S. Fort Lamy

S.S. Fort Lamy went down in the north Atlantic Ocean on 8th March 1943. Many of those killed as a result of the torpedo attack had connections to Northern Ireland.
