Staff Sergeant Lloyd J. Thomas (6910538) served in 2nd Infantry Regiment, 5th (Red Diamond) Infantry Division, United States Army during the Second World War. He was born in Oakland County, Michigan, U.S.A.

Thomas died on 17th May 1944 as a result of a road accident on the Comber to Killyleagh Road in the townland of Ballygraffan, Co. Down. Fellow U.S. Army colleague Private Travis Everett Royer and British Lance Corporal William Reid of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment also died as a result.

Burial first took place at Lisnabreeny American Military Cemetery, Belfast. After the war, Thomas was repatriated to Plot F, Row 3, Grave 86 of Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridgeshire, England.
