Carl Goering served in the United States Army during the Second World War. He hailed from the U.S.A.

Goering arrived in Northern Ireland on 26th January 1942 as part of the first contingent of American troops. He was slightly built and wore glasses. On his arrival, reporters asked if there was a possibility he bore any relation to Hermann Goering. Carl refused to acknowledge the possibility, stating he didn’t even know how the Nazi leader spelled his surname.
