Thomas William Bleakley

Civilian Thomas William Bleakley and other members of the family died at the Thorndyke Street Public Air Raid Shelter on the night of 15th-16th April 1941.

Civilian Thomas William Bleakley was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz during the Second World War. He lived with his wife Matilda Violet Bleakley and sister-in-law Mary Ann “Cissie” Crotty at 8 Thorndyke Street, Belfast at the time of the Luftwaffe attack on the city.

He was the father of William Edmund Bleakley and Marion Bleakley. Thomas William Bleakley died on 15th April 1941 aged 51 years old at the Public Air Raid Shelter in Thorndyke Street, Belfast. Thomas William Bleakley’s grave is in Section F3, Grave 418 of Dundonald Cemetery, Dundonald, Co. Down. A funeral service took place on 21st April 1941.
