Alexander Major

Chief Officer Alexander Major served on British Merchant vessel S.S. Loch Lomond. He died on 1st December 1943 and his grave is in a family plot in Gibraltar.

Chief Officer Alexander Major served in the Merchant Navy during the Second World War. He was the son of William John Major and Isamia Major, and the husband of Elizabeth Major of Belfast.

Chief Officer Major died on 1st December 1943 aged 42 years. He had served on S.S. Loch Lomond. His grave is in the Family Vault, Grave 302 of North Front Cemetery, Gibraltar. His headstone bears the inscription:

To be with Christ; which is far better. Philippians I.23.
