Joseph Carter Jr. was one of seven members of the family to die as a result of Luftwaffe bombing on Dock Street during the Easter Raid of the Belfast Blitz.

Civilian Joseph Carter Jr. was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz during the Second World War. He lived with his parents Joseph Carter Sr. and Mary Ann Carter, sisters Alice Carter, Sarah Carter, Kathleen Carter, and Mary Carter at 13 Dock Street, Belfast at the time of the Luftwaffe attack on the city.
Joseph Carter Jr. died on 16th April 1941 aged 6 years old at 13 Dock Street, Belfast. Joseph Carter Jr’s grave is with his sisters Alice Carter and Kathleen Carter in Glenalina Extension, Section T1, Grave 136 of Belfast City Cemetery, Belfast. A funeral service took place on 20th April 1941.
