James Herbert Turpin

Born in Co. Laois, Ireland, James Herbert Turpin died at Mater Infirmorum Hospital, Belfast on 20th April 1941 as a result of injuries sustained in the Blitz.

Civilian James Herbert Turpin was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz during the Second World War. He lived at 251 Antrim Road, Belfast at the time of the Luftwaffe attack on the city.

He was the son of the late Samuel Peter Turpin and Elizabeth Sullivan Turpin of Stradbally, Co. Laois, Ireland. James Herbert Turpin died on 20th April 1941 aged 83 years old at Mater Infirmorum Hospital, Belfast. He sustained injuries on 16th April 1941 at 251 Antrim Road, Belfast. James’ grave is in Stradbally, Co. Laois, Ireland. A funeral service took place on 23rd April 1941.
