Lance Corporal Henry Cromie (1888355) served in 3rd (Cheshire) Field Squadron, Royal Engineers during the Second World War. Born on 10th December 1911 and known as Harry, he was the son of Thomas Cromie and Eva Cromie (née Brennan) of Ballywalter, Co. Down.

Lance Corporal Cromie died on 23rd March 1942 aged 30 years old. His grave is in Section 8, Row C, Collective Grave 12-14 of Knightsbridge War Cemetery, Acroma, Libya. His name is on the memorial plaque of Ballywalter Presbyterian Church, Ballywalter, Co. Down, and on the Ballywalter War Memorial, Ballywalter, Co. Down. Harry was a cousin of Stoker 1st Class David Cromie (D/KX 152720) and a second cousin of Gunner Robert Cromie (1476595).
