Serjeant Robert James Ludlow (1064310) served in 9th Coast Regiment, Royal Artillery during the Second World War. He was the son of James Ludlow and Elizabeth Ludlow of 35 Henry Street, Portadown, Co. Armagh, and the husband of Gladys Georgina Ludlow of Exeter, Devon, England.

Serjeant Ludlow died on 13th February 1942 aged 34 years old. At his time of death, Ludlow was a prisoner of war having been taken captive during the fall of Singapore. He had 17 years’ service in the British Army. He has no known grave and his name is on Column 5 of the Singapore Memorial, Singapore. His name is also on the Portadown War Memorial, Portadown, Co. Armagh.
