Gunner James Gibson (1456570) served in 12th Battery, 3rd Searchlight Regiment, Royal Artillery during the Second World War. He was the son of Joseph Gibson and Elizabeth Gibson (née Matchett), and the husband of Rosetta Gibson of Portadown, Co. Armagh.

Gunner Gibson died on 7th December 1945 aged 36 years old. His grave is in Grave 40 of Drumcree Roman Catholic Churchyard, Portadown, Co. Armagh. In 2018, his name was a new addition to the Portadown War Memorial, Portadown, Co. Armagh. His headstone bears the inscription:

In loving memory of James. On his soul sweet Jesus, have mercy. Wife and family. R.I.P.
