Lance Corporal Samuel Kane (6977922) served in 1st Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers during the Second World War. He was the son of Samuel Kane and Elizabeth Kane, and the husband of Emma Kane of Portadown, Co. Armagh.

Lance Corporal Kane died on 28th December 1942 aged 27 years old. His grave is in Section 15, Row D, Grave 17 of Medjez-el-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia. In 2018, his name was a new addition to the Portadown War Memorial, Portadown, Co. Armagh. His headstone bears the inscription:

Manly and brave his young life he gave.
