Lance Corporal Richard Alexander Black (7011400) served in the Corps of Military Police during the Second World War. He was from Co. Armagh. In 1940, Black was serving in 1st Battalion, South Staffordshire Regiment. He had previously seen action in the 1930s in Palestine.

Lance Corporal Black died between 25th April 1941 and 2nd June 1941 aged 30 years old. His grave is in Section 8, Row B, Grave 3 of Suda Bay War Cemetery, Greece. His name is on the Portadown War Memorial, Portadown, Co. Armagh where his regiment is noted as Royal Ulster Rifles and his rank as Private.
