During 1942, 1/5th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment spent time at Sunnylands Camp in Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim before handing the site over to U.S. troops.
Between 17th December 1940 and 24th July 1942, 4th Battalion, Royal Berkshire Regiment was part of 148th Independent Infantry Brigade and spent time in Ulster.
Until 24th July 1942, 8th (Nottinghamshire) Battalion, The Sherwood Foresters was part of 148th Independent Infantry Brigade and spent time in Northern Ireland.
150th (South Nottinghamshire Hussars Yeomanry) Field Regiment, Royal Artillery formed part of 148th Independent Infantry Brigade in Northern Ireland.
