Training in the Rivers
On 1st August 1941, soldiers of 8th (Nottinghamshire) Battalion, The Sherwood Foresters underwent training in river crossing and more at Muckmore, Co. Antrim.
Until 24th July 1942, 8th (Nottinghamshire) Battalion, The Sherwood Foresters was part of 148th Independent Infantry Brigade and spent time in Northern Ireland.

Members of 8th (Nottinghamshire) Battalion, The Sherwood Foresters, 148th Independent Infantry Brigade take part in Exercise Dragoon in the Sperrin Mountains, Co. Londonderry on 1st April 1942.
