I know very well how much your son had the interests of the regiment at heart and how proud he was to belong to it. He will be missed very much by all ranks and it is very sad to think he will not be there after the war to join the Regimental Association, which we are all determined to start.

He was with me for the first two years in Enniskillen and Portrush and I know what a sterling character he was. He was always cheerful and willing and was such a reliable chap and the type that will be badly missed.
