Antrim Town, Co. Antrim during the Second World War

The town of Antrim in Co. Antrim played host to troops from Britain, the United States of America, and Belgium as they trained during the Second World War.

A royal inspection in 1941

On 24th April 1941, His Royal Highness the Duke of Gloucester inspected soldiers of 145th (Berkshire Yeomanry) Field Regiment serving with 61st Infantry Division.

Training on the Maine

On 9th September 1941, soldiers of 4th Battalion, Royal Berkshire Regiment, 148th Independent Infantry Brigade trained between Antrim Town and Ballymena.
