Winifred Boal

Teenagers Winifred Boal and George Boal of Donegore Street died close to their home as the Luftwaffe attacked the city on the night of 4th-5th May 1941.

Civilian Winifred Boal was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz during the Second World War. She lived at 13 Donegore Street, Belfast at the time of the Luftwaffe attack on the city.

Winifred Boal died on 5th May 1941 aged 19 years old. Commonwealth War Graves Commission casualty lists suggest her place of death was 13 Donegore Street, Belfast. However, Belfast City Council burial records indicate she may have died at the Public Air Raid Shelter in Donegore Street, Belfast. Winifred Boal’s grave is in Section A1, Grave 247 of Dundonald Cemetery, Dundonald, Co. Down.
