Civilian William Close was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz during the Second World War. He lived with his wife Isabella Close at 21 Westbourne Street, Belfast at the time of the Luftwaffe attack on the city.

He was the son of William Close Sr. and Mary Jane Close, and the brother of Albert Close of 35 Westbourne Street, Belfast. William Close died on 5th May 1941 aged 31 years old at 21 Westbourne Street, Belfast. William Close’s grave is in Section F2, Grave 84 of Dundonald Cemetery, Dundonald, Co. Down. A funeral service took place on 10th May 1941.
