Private Wilbur L. Murray (33236378) served in 312th Ferry Squadron, 27th Air Transport Group, 8th United States Army Air Force during the Second World War. He was born in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.

Wilbur enlisted on 20th July 1942 after graduating from Turbotville-Lewis High School. In civilian life, he worked for the Pennsylvania Ordnance Works.

Murray died on 6th July 1944 while serving on B-24H #42-50762 “Flossie”. The plane crashed on high ground on North Barrule southwest of Ramsey, Isle of Man while en-route to Great Britain from Langford Lodge Airfield, Co. Antrim.

Burial first took place at Lisnabreeny American Military Cemetery, Belfast. After the war, Murray was repatriated to Turbotville Cemetery, Turbotville, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
