First Lieutenant Burl Lee Creech (O-664143) served in 311th Ferry Squadron, 27th Air Transport Group, 8th Air Force, United States Army Air Force during the Second World War. Born on 8th January 1920, he was the son of John B. Creech and Leanna May Creech of Henryetta, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, U.S.A.

In civilian life, Creech worked as a chemist for Eagle-Picher Mining and Smelting Co., Henryetta, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, U.S.A.

Creech died on 4th March 1944 aged 24 years old while serving as a pilot on B-26C #41-34893. The plane crashed shortly after take-off from Maghaberry Airfield, Co. Antrim due to a mechanical failure in one of the engines.

Burial first took place at Lisnabreeny American Military Cemetery, Belfast. After the war, Creech was repatriated to West Lawn Cemetery, Henryetta, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, U.S.A.
