R.U.C. Constable Robert Reid of Ballymena, Co. Antrim was a fatality in the Fire Raid of the Belfast Blitz when a high explosive bomb destroyed the barracks.

Royal Ulster Constabulary Constable Robert Reid was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz during the Second World War. He was the son of William John Reid of 32 Springwell Street, Ballymena, Co. Antrim.
Robert Reid died on 5th May 1941 aged 22 years old at the Royal Ulster Constabulary Barracks on Glenravel Street, Belfast. A total of four other members of the Royal Ulster Constabulary died as a result of the direct hit from a High Explosive Bomb. The explosion came before 0220hrs causing the complete demolition of the Barracks.
