Sergeant Thomas Ronald Augustus West (1110187) served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve during the Second World War. He was the son of John West and Sara West of Ballinamallard, Co. Fermanagh.

Sergeant West died on 2nd June 1942 aged 27 years old while serving in R.A.F. 76 Squadron. West was a member of the crew of Handley Page Halifax II W1064 that took off from R.A.F. Middleton-St.-George, Durham, England at 2306hrs on 1st June 1942.

Sergeant West’s grave is in Section 2, Row E, Grave 2 of Heverlee War Cemetery, Belgium. His headstone bears the inscription:

Worship the Christian God.
