Robert Bennett died on 16th April 1941 aged 66 years old. Commonwealth War Graves Commission casualty lists suggest his place of death was Mater Infirmorum Hospital, Belfast. However, Belfast City Council burial records indicate he may have died at Union Infirmary, Belfast. He sustained injuries on 16th April 1941 at 21 Serpentine Road, Greencastle, Co. Antrim. Robert Bennett’s grave is in Glenalina Extension, Action T1, Grave 207 of Belfast City Cemetery, Belfast. A funeral service took place on 20th April 1941.
