Civilian Mary Ann Costello was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz during the Second World War. She lived with her mother Catherine Costello, and brother Stephen Costello at 77 Sussex Street, Belfast at the time of the Luftwaffe attack on the city.

She was the daughter of the late Peter Costello. Her name is given as “Maura” in the Belfast Telegraph issued on 18th April 1941. Mary Ann Costello died on 16th April 1941 aged 5 years old at Sussex Street, Belfast. A funeral service took place at 1130hrs on 19th April 1941 from St. Paul’s Church, Falls Road, Belfast.
