Civilian Mary Addis was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz during the Second World War. She lived with her sister Sarah Addis at 23 Sheridan Street, Belfast at the time of the Luftwaffe attack on the city.
Mary Addis died on 15th April 1941 aged 59 years old at 21 Sheridan Street, Belfast. Death notices for the sisters appeared in the Belfast Telegraph on 29th April 1941 placed by brothers George Addis, John Addis, and sister Esther Atkinson.
On 12th June 1941, Mary Addis’ name was among those at an inquiry held by the Coroner of Belfast at Belfast City Hall into the presumed deaths of those missing since the raids.
