He lived with his parents Jeremiah Clarke and Lavinia Clarke, and brothers Robert Clarke, William Clarke, John Clarke, Cecil Clarke, and Desmond Clarke at 4 Ballynure Street, Belfast at the time of the Luftwaffe attack on the city.
