James Beattie Sr. died alongside his son at their home on Tamar Street in East Belfast as Luftwaffe bombers attacked the area surrounding the shipyards.
Civilian James Beattie Sr. was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz during the Second World War. He lived with his son James Beattie Jr. at 57 Tamar Street, Belfast at the time of the Luftwaffe attack on the city.
James Beattie Sr. died on 4th May 1941 aged 29 years old at 57 Tamar Street, Belfast. James Beattie Sr’s grave is with his son in Section B1, Grave 654 of Dundonald Cemetery, Dundonald, Co. Down. A funeral service took place on 8th May 1941.
