Hugh Boyd and his brother Elias Jones Boyd died on 16th April 1941 as Luftwaffe bombs fell on Percy Street during the Easter Raid of the Belfast Blitz.

Civilian Hugh Boyd was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz during the Second World War. He lived with his parents Hugh Thomas Boyd and Charlotte R. Boyd, and brother Elias Jones Boyd at 8 Percy Street, Belfast at the time of the Luftwaffe attack on the city.

Hugh Boyd died on 16th April 1941 aged 18 years old at Percy Street, Belfast. Hugh Boyd’s grave is with his brother Elias Jones Boyd in Carryduff Presbyterian Church, Carryduff, Co. Down. A funeral service took place at 1500hrs on 20th April 1941 from his grandmother’s house at 7 Blackwater Street, Belfast.
