Civilian Ellen Smyth was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz during the Second World War. She lived with her husband Gunner James Smyth (His Majesty’s Forces), son Lawrence Smyth, and daughters May Smyth, Elizabeth Smyth and Sadie Smyth at 22 Barbour Street, Greencastle, Co. Antrim at the time of the Luftwaffe attack on the city.

She was the daughter of Thomas Meteraghan and Elizabeth Meteraghan of Ivy Row, Greencastle, Co. Antrim. Ellen Smyth died on 5th May 1941 aged 34 years old at 22 Barbour Street, Greencastle, Co. Antrim.
