Private Patrick Traynor (13024745) served in The Pioneer Corps during the Second World War. Known as Pat, he was the son of Patrick Traynor and Jane Traynor, and the husband of Maggie Traynor of Ballycastle, Co. Antrim. The couple had one daughter and two sons at Pat's time of death.
Private Traynor died on 5th November 1942 aged 44 years old. Newspaper reports suggest his death occurred at a Japanese hospital. His grave is in Section J, Row D, Grave 8 of Labuan War Cemetery, Malaysia. His headstone bears the inscription:
