Trooper James Shaw (322079) served in A Squadron, 11th Hussars, Royal Armoured Corps during the Second World War. He was the son of James Shaw and Rachel Shaw of 22 Woodford Street, Belfast.

James enlisted in the British Army in January 1939 and had served in the Middle East for 2 years at his time of death.

Trooper Shaw died on 7th January 1942 aged 21 years old. He has no known grave and his name is on Column 20 of the Alamein Memorial, El Alamein, Egypt.
