Company Quartermaster Sergeant William McMurray (6983653) served in 70th Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers during the Second World War. He was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz. He was the son of George McMurray and Annie McMurray of Bessbrook, Co. Armagh, and the husband of Susan Elizabeth McMurray of Bessbrook, Co. Armagh. William McMurray died on 17th April 1941 aged 27 years old.

His grave is in Grave 19 of Bessbrook Methodist Cemetery, Bessbrook, Co. Armagh. His headstone bears the inscription:

The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
