Fusilier Ernest McNeill (6982560) served in 70th Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers during the Second World War. He was a fatal casualty of the Belfast Blitz. He was the son of John McNeill and Margaret McNeill of Craigmore, Bessbrook, Co. Armagh. Ernest McNeill died on 16th April 1941 aged 17 years old at Newtownards Airfield, Newtownards, Co. Down.

His grave is in Grave 4B of St. Luke’s Church of Ireland Churchyard, Mullaghglass, Co. Armagh. His headstone bears the inscription:

Safe in the arms of Jesus.
