Fusilier William Francis Higgins (7045064) served in 6th Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers during the Second World War. He was the son of Henry Higgins and Harriet Higgins, and the husband of Elizabeth Higgins of Belfast.

Fusilier Higgins died on 13th January 1943 aged 29 years old. On this day, the Battalion launched an attack on Two Tree Hill near Bou Arada. Thunderstorms, downpours, and gale force winds the previous night made for tricky terrain when traveling by carrier or on foot. The enemy held position and the Battalion withdrawal was complete by 1530hrs.

Higgins was one of eleven other ranks killed on 13th January 1943. His grave is in Section IV, Row E, Grave 1 of Massicault War Cemetery, Tunisia.
