Corporal Archibald Porter (6982760) served in 6th Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers during the Second World War. He was the son of Lewis Porter and Cathleen Porter of Upper Ballysillan, Belfast.

Corporal Porter died on 3rd December 1943 aged 28 years old. His grave is in Section VIII, Row E, Grave 15 of Sangro River War Cemetery, Italy. Commonwealth War Graves incorrectly lists Corporal Porter’s unit as 5th Battalion, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. His headstone bears the inscription:

He carried his cross with a smile.
