Lieutenant Clement James Henry (137906) served in 5th Battalion, Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders during the Second World War. He was the son of Dr. William Henry and Margaret Henry, and the husband of Eileen Henry of Belfast.

Lieutenant Henry died on 1st August 1943 aged 33 years old. At the time, 5th Battalion, Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders were part of 51st (Highland) Division advancing to take the road from Sferro to Catenanuova- during Operation HUSKY. Henry’s battalion led the attack, which started on 31st July 1943. The battalion encountered heavy opposition until reinforced by 2nd Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders.

Lieutenant Henry’s grave is in Section IV, Row G, Grave 9 of Catania War Cemetery, Sicily, Italy.
