Fusilier Stanley James Henderson of Belfast served with the Irish Brigade as part of 1st Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers in Italy at his time of death in 1943.

Fusilier Stanley James Henderson (13011982) served in 1st Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers during the Second World War. He was the son of Robert Henderson and Edith Henderson of 1 Jocelyn Street, Belfast, and the husband of Henrietta "Hetty" Grace Henderson of 53 Portallo Street, Belfast.

Fusilier Henderson died on 4th December 1943 aged 33 years old. His grave is in Section VIII, Row C, Grave 42 of Sangro River War Cemetery, Italy. His headstone bears the inscription:

“Splendid you passed, the great surrender made”. Remembrance. Hetty and Sally.
