Serjeant Thomas Allen (7012142) served in 1st Battalion, The London Irish Rifles, Royal Ulster Rifles during the Second World War. He was the son of Daniel Allen and Sarah Allen, and the husband of Annie Allen (née Davidson) of Abbey Street, Armagh, Co. Armagh. The couple had a young daughter Lucy Allen who never saw her father.
By the time of the Second World War, Serjeant Allen was an experienced soldier with 13 years’ experience serving in China, India, and Egypt. Serjeant Allen died on 4th December 1943 aged 28 years old. His grave is in Section I, Row C, Grave 17 of Minturno War Cemetery, Italy. His headstone bears the inscription:
