Private William George Morgan (5192397) served in 9th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment during the Second World War. He was the son of William Albert Morgan and Sarah Elizabeth Morgan.

Private Morgan died on 5th May 1941 aged 30 years old during The Fire Raid of the Belfast Blitz. 9th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment was based at Victoria Park in East Belfast. Morgan’s place of death was nearby at East Twin Island.

His grave is in New Portion, North of Church, of St. Arilda Churchyard, Oldbury-on-Severn, Gloucestershire, England. His headstone bears the inscription:

In the midst of life, we are in death.
