Private Herbert Owen Perkins (5192419) served in 9th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment during the Second World War. He was the son of Edward Perkins and Edith Mary Perkins, and the husband of Dorothy Agnes Perkins of Calverleigh, Devon, England.
Private Perkins died on 5th May 1941 aged 25 years old during The Fire Raid of the Belfast Blitz. 9th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment was based at Victoria Park in East Belfast. Perkins’ place of death was nearby at East Twin Island.
His grave is in Section XD, Row 16, Grave 33 of Tiverton Cemetery, Devon, England. His headstone bears the inscription:
