Private Peters died on 5th May 1941 aged 23 years old during The Fire Raid of the Belfast Blitz. 9th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment was based at Victoria Park in East Belfast. Peters’ place of death was nearby at East Twin Island.
His grave is in Section F, Grave 440 of Ely Cemetery, Cambridgeshire, England. His headstone bears the inscription:
