Corporal Ambrose Carabine (4389212) served in 1st Battalion, Princess Alexandra of Wales’ Own Yorkshire Regiment (The Green Howards) during the Second World War. He was the son of Joseph Carabine and Elizabeth Ann Carabine of West Hartlepool, Durham, England, and the husband of Evelyn Carabine of Omagh, Co. Tyrone.

Corporal Carabine died on 1st February 1944 aged 26 years old. His grave is in Section III, Row C, Grave 16 of Minturno War Cemetery, Italy. His headstone bears the inscription:

He gave his life to save others so that in the coming years they may enjoy peace.
